Lollygagging

What a wonderful word. To amble and even ramble in a lackadaisical way. As in “Don’t lollygag, now.” But indeed, my age, the 70s, is a luxurious time to lollygag. Paul Simon and Art Garfunkle were a popular singing duo in the later 60s and early 70s, and in 1967 they recorded a song titled “Feelin’ Groovy.” It started with the line, “Slow down, you’re movin’ too fast,” and I loved it. It’s been a theme song for me, but in reality I didn’t slow down, though I’m beginning to. If I lollygag along on a walk I even forget the word! Allee remembered it, though, bless her.
