Hyper-Cosmic Metaphysics

What I call the “hyper-cosmos” is everything: It includes the material universe; and also all the permutations of both recognized physical forms and also psychic and spiritual forms of “energy” in the not-so-material universe; plus all permutations of mind in the pretty-much-non-material universe; and beyond that, the spiritual dimensions that are quite immaterial; plus, finally, inconceivable dimensions yet again beyond that. The kabbalistic tree of life demonstrates this hierarchy:
At the bottom point is the earth-plane, or actually the entire physical 3-D plus Time universe detectable and measurable by science. This is the objective “reality” that folks live in. (The Kabbalists called it Malkut, which means “kingdom.”) This physical or manifest universe is in fact only a tiny fragment compared to the next three levels up, a vast realm of all the thoughts, dreams, poems, images, of all sentient beings and any conscious forms that generate such images. (In the upper two of the three at this level, Hod and Netzakh, they represent a syzygy of cultural forms and archetypes “behind” those forms that together generate the aforementioned not-so-material-universe of “energies,” both physical and psychical. This to some large degree is what the physicist David Bohm called “the implicate order.”
In the middle are the deep dynamics beyond the implicate order mentioned, a causal or deeper spiritual patterning that keeps the universe unfolding and evolving within physical and spiritual laws—i.e, so it’s not just truly chaotic. (Explaining these could fill volumes.)
Beyond that, “higher up,” there is a relatively unknowable realm that exists—and is known only very incompletely—only by our lowly minds ascending to the height of ecstatic or supreme contemplation. There is no claim to full understanding of all this, other than to note that there is a beyond the beyond, so to speak. Yet these primordial orderings are inferred.
That there are “levels” is being revealed to us on many frontiers:
– There are microbes and smaller than those, domains revealed by electron microscopes, and beyond that in minuteness, realms perceived only dimly by scanning electron microscopes and speculations (e.g., “strings”)
– Similarly, enhancements in space telescope and other wavelengths-of-energy-sensitive telescopes reveal realms beyond that which can be seen by the eye, or by strong ordinary telescopes, and beyond.
– Similar frontiers of beyond the beyond are dimly perceived or inferred in force and speed and other parameters.
– Meditators from the East have elaborated levels and subtypes of subtle consciousness not recognized in the West.
.. So that there are “levels” and fine details and sub-components and sub-types and such should not surprise us. Everything as we get to know it is far more complex and laced with fine detail than we thought it was a century ago. That there are metaphysical levels also should be no great surprise.
In summary, our philosophy must expand to include these frontiers about which we are only recently becoming aware, and we must dare to speculate what these expanding frontiers suggest.
