No Problem!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The desk clerk was a young man who responded to matter-of-fact arrangements being made at a hotel with such phrases, instead of saying \u201cokay,\u201d \u201cgood,\u201d or \u201cyes, Ma\u2019am.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s strange when young people say \u201cawesome\u201d to describe fortunate but really rather mundane events. Or when something has evidently been a big problem, but they work it out and sign off with a flip \u201cNo problem.\u201d I want to shout, \u201cWell, it was a big doggone problem to me!\u201d But that\u2019s just their way of speaking, modern talk. I\u2019m such an olfart. \u201cOlfart\u201d is a term, a conjunction of two words, one being \u201cold,\u201d that I use to acknowledge that there comes a time in life when language and other things are getting away from you.<\/p>\n<p>Our parents must have felt this way when we said, \u201cfar out,\u201d \u201cgroovy,\u201d or \u201ckeep on truckin\u2019,\u201d so it\u2019s not as if our generation is any better than kids today. It\u2019s interesting that \u201ccool\u201d has lasted so long.
