When I saw this peanuts cartoon I was strangely touched. I don\u2019t remember hollering like this, but I sure do remember asking a lot of questions. It occurs to me that I wasn\u2019t able to keep the anxiety hidden all that well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blatner.com\/adam\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/measleshot.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"measleshot\" style=\"border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; float: left; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"measleshot\" src=\"http:\/\/blatner.com\/adam\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/measleshot_thumb.jpg\" width=\"273\" align=\"left\" height=\"297\" \/><\/a>The weird thing is that I converted this into a desire to become a doctor and help other kids, and that is indeed what I did. \u201cWe just shot the measles\u201d somehow reflects the transformation that I was able to effect. In psychoanalysis it\u2019s called \u201cidentifying with the aggressor, but I don\u2019t like those words.
