People seem surprised to find errors in The QuarkXPress Book and Real World QuarkXPress, as though a book about publishing could somehow escape the fates. While I pride myself in my accuracy, I ultimately have to admit that a 950-page book is going to have a few erors in it. Fortunately, I can make amends here. Note that some of these "anomolies" may be fixed in later printings of the book, so they may not be relevant to you, depending on when you purchased your copy.

• Index. Something went really, really wrong at the last minute, and after Real World QuarkXPress 6 was proofed the index was replaced with an older version--so almost every page number in the first printing's index is incorrect. I can't tell you how embarassed and sorry I am about this mistake. It's the first time in my 14 years of writing books that this has happened. Sigh.
