Singin’ and Dancin’

I’m having a good ol’ time in my community. We dance several types of dancing—square and round, folk (I probably know over 1ooo dances and in the last 56 years done 1000 or more others), and ballroom dances. For over 14 years I’ve sung in our Sun City Texas chorus and this fall we’re rehearsing—all hundred or so of us—for the Christmas concert. A pal sent me this picture that mixes Edvard Munch’s “the scream” with a passage of our version of Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland. There’s a little passage where we all take off from the part that goes, “In the meadow we can build a snowman,” and does a little riff: We’re gonna build a snowman, but don’t knock him down… and the music suggests the poor structure’s toppling over as we cry out in dismay, “You better not, you better, not, don’t knock him dow………..n.  Cute!912singersl
